Other than Tea City of India, Dibrugarh famous foods are well known.Dibrugarh is considered to be a major city in eastern India in line with Guwahati and Bhubaneswar. It is the emerging communication and industrial hub of North East India. Dibrugarh is also one of the two main cities in the state of Assam to receive urban development aid from the Asian Development Bank

Dibrugarh famous foods comprises of a platter full of Assamese dishes.Once you reach there, you will be delighted to taste the food comprising of bhat, dali, masor tenga, khar, tarkari, aloo pitika and mangkho. Here,there are yet  some traditional dishes which are eaten by most of the people regularly. Masor tenga, a sopur fish dish is made frequently in every household of Dibrugarh. Poitabahat which is had during summer, is rice soaked overnight and eaten with mustard oil and onion and chillies. Pitika made mainly of mashed aloo (potato) is garmished with chillies, mustard oil and onion.
