Famous Foods of Ahemdabad

Ahmedabad, being a major city of Gujarat,  has seen a phenomenal change in the last few years. There are number of people from different parts of county are residing here, not because of only job opportunities but also due to its infrastructure and its culture that have attracted people from long. Being a Gujarati city, one thing that has not change yet is its Amdavadi Food. Here, every Amdavadi remains a hardcore foodie. Once a foodie always a foodie, that’s for people living here from years. They love to have Amdavadi food, whatever the cuisine, street food or fine dining, with friends or family. One cannot separate an Amdavadi from his love for food. Here are the famous places for foods where one should not forget to check them out while in Ahemdabad!!

Rasranjan, Havmor and Honest –  These are the famous brands of Ahmedabad just like others in food industry. Very  hygienic and tasty  Indian fastfood. People have recommended some dishes not to be missed here are “The Chole puri from Havmor , Chaat at Rasranjan and the Pav Bhaaji at Honest !”

Ambika Daal Vada –  This place serves “Daal Vadas” which is too tasty to forget. One can enjoy these dish  in any weather but the monsoons will bring you the best taste. To add taste, this dish is  served with fried green chillies and chutney. This is located near LD Arts College in Navrangpura


Cafe Upper Crust  – Famous for its food quality as its taste has remained the same for more than 12 years.If you need your Italian fix, head straight to Upper Crust at Vijay Char Rasta.

Vishalla –   An amazing outdoor area displaying a look alike Gujarati village having  huts, shops, live performances and  tasty vegetarian food.


Agashiye  – For  a unique experience, one should  try out Agashiye at the House of MG across the river. This terrace restaurant serves unlimited fixed vegetarian meals.

Bhatiyar Gali –  Located at Teen Darwaza (old city) is renowned for its non-vegetarian foods. This is a place to try out Tandoori Chicken or kebabs. While in the vicinity, you may want to try the Mutton Samosas and Hara Kebabs at Khanpur.


La Bella  – This is run by an old Goan lady to whom students generally calls as Aunty. Aunty serves the yummiest and cheapest non-vegetarian food in the city! About 3-4 dishes cooked everyday and one can choose between them with a plate of rice on the side. Two hungry people will hardly give more than INR 150 at the end of their meal. One must also tries other items like mutton, chicken and fish of this place.


Tomatoes and Mirch Masala  – If one wants to have continental food as well as Indian food, then these are the best places to visit. However, both serves a great food. A bit pricey for the student community, Tomatoes is known for its selection of non-vegetarian platters while Mirch Masala is a great place for those looking for North-Indian style Butter Chicken.

RK Vadapav –   A worth visiting place for Vada-Pav lovers. Here you can be served Vadapavs every minute.Located at Vijay Char rasta, this dish is served with spicy chutney , this is the perfect snack on-the-go!


Dairy Den CTF (Chills, Frills and Thrills)   -To have some sweets this is the place to go. Located at Municipal Market on CG road, their range of ice-creams are as popular as their shakes and sundaes.
