Famous Dishes of Indore, Madhya Pradesh
You might have heard about some famous places of Indore, as:

But, in addition to architectural flavour of city, one should also be aware of the food flavour of this city.
Indore has lots and lots of Must Eat Local Foods at various places to enjoy. To enjoy such mouthwatering dishes of Indore, you have to be foodie and if you are not, then I bet very soon you will become foodie once you visit and have such dishes. Famous dishes of Indore are –
- Poha Jalebi and Bina Tala Samosa
Generally we eat Poha and Jalebis as separate items but Indore provides us a unique dish having combination of both Poha and Jalebi. This dish is available at Chappan Bhog Chowk. Chappan Bhog Chowk is one of those market where varities of foods are available. Here all the delicious sweets are available at reasonable prices. This market is located near Palasia Road.
- Garam Garam Garadu, Gajak and Moong Halwa
Garam Garam Garadu – Garadu is a type of yam. It looks somewhat like sweet potato (Ratalu) in appearance. This dish comprises of Garadu, Oil, Jiralu Masala, Salt, Lemon Juice, and Fresh Coriander Leaves Chopped.
Gajak and Moong Halwa are also the very famous food items of Indore.
These items are available in Sarafa Bazar. The most noticeable thing of Sarafa Bazar is that its food shops opens only after 8 pm when jewelries shops are closed.
- Bhutte Ka Kees
This famous dish of Indore is made up of grated corn garnished with coriander leaves and grated coconut. One can find this dish easily in Sarafa Bazar.
- Khopra Patties
This famous dish of Indore is made up of khopra (dry coconut) with a covering of potatoes and served with khatti-meethi chatni. Shop is famous for this dish is Vijay Chaat, also situated in Sarafa Bazar.
- Joshi Ji Ke Dahi Vade
In Sarafa Bazaar, Joshi Dahi Vada is immensely popular! One of Indore’s most famous Dahi Vada specialists, Joshi ji, as the owner is known, also has a unique technique of preparing the Dahi Vadas & showcases it on public demand. He prepares with such a technique that in a single shot he can add 5 spices in Dahi Vada.
